Lower Back Pain

Schumacher Chiropractic helps restore normal motion and relieve pain.

Low back pain results in millions of dollars of lost work and untold suffering every day. Many factors can be responsible for low back pain. Improper lifting, overexertion, trauma caused by auto accidents, work injuries, slips and falls, or inherited spinal abnormalities may contribute to the cause.

Many of the pain-sensing nerves of the spine are in the facet joints, the two interlocking “fingers” at the back of each spinal bone. The normally smooth surfaces, on which these joints glide, can become rough, irritated and inflamed. Surgical treatment often involves removing these facet joints, exposing the spinal cord and in essence makes your spine weaker. Another cause of low back pain can be related to bulging or herniated discs putting pressure on the spinal cord and nearby nerve roots. This usually results in low back and leg pain. Surgically cutting away the herniated disc can permanently alter its ability to separate or cushion the adjacent bones. This rarely addresses the underlying cause of the problem.

At Schumacher Chiropractic Clinics, our doctors use state of the art treatment protocols when working with patients that suffer from low back pain and we get superior results.
