We have all become more dependent on the use of mobile phones for information gathering, communication and entertainment. These hand held devices certainly have made our lives easier but have also impacted our posture significantly. Looking down repetitively and for prolonged periods of time can irritate the joints and supportive muscles, ligaments and discs in our necks. We have seen an increase in the number of patients with these types of issues over the last few years. Remember to think about your posture when using these devices and raise the level of the screen to help reduce the flexion of your neck. I have attached some information that I think will be helpful in understanding the effect that poor posture has on your neck and overall health.
